Importance of Practicing the Basics

What About The Basics!!!

Here I am sharing few clips that demonstrate different phrases I choose for my warm up or intense RIYAZ (practice) hours.

Day 1 | Self-Reflections

So, the job will be to sit and reflect upon my playing style and trying to find what phrases/compositions I will have to work upon. The phrase today is:
dhati dhage dhina gena |
dhati dhage tina kena |

Day 2  | W

Day 2  | Weekdays for Weak Phrase.

Working on Tin - the sur note.
A common phrase for which Gharana???? Can you guess it?
I will let you figure that out :)

Day 3 | Applications

This clip is from towards the end of jam session with my band mates as we were ending. There's no phrase but I believe working on a groove isn't a bad idea for practice.

Day 4 | Super Basics yet again
It's weekend but it's a day still.
Today I am here with a simple but difficult phrase. Needs much improvement. What say? I hope you got the phrase I am playing!!!

Day 5 | The Weekend Groove!!!!!

The phrase here is:
धाती धाSतीर किटतक तीरकिट ।
X
धाती धागे धिना गेना ।
0
If you care about playing the phrase for a while, say 30 minutes, you can feel your nerves loosening up with the momentum and the execution getting clearer, bolder and smooth with each stroke.
